To Fellowship or not??

When do we break fellowship with another? Here I post my answer to one woman’s question:

It sounds like you are outnumbered 2 to 1 and that you have very little in common with them. I have noticed that unity is easier among believers when they have agreement and “one mind” on Christian issues. The saying “Let’s agree to disagree” is so common that we’ve come to think of it like the “golden rule” and we hold to it like it’s in the gospels. It may be a great saying to stop a disagreement but I have found that its application does only that, stops a fight but it doesn’t bring unity as we might hope it does. I think you will find that to be in close fellowship with other women you need to have more doctrine in common than you do with the lady pastor.

Because she rejects to the OLD Testament to whatever degree ask her to account for the New Testament. Below I have verses from the NT that are written to and about women and their roles. I would leave her with the list and then I would leave her fellowship as well.

I don’t like being harsh with people but sometimes you have to beware of the “leaven of the pharasees” and don’t let any get into your lump of dough.

She has laughed at you and you know her to be anti-men. She has discarded the OT and deemed you to be in bondage. She has called you legalistic and dumb and judgemental. You think she can barely stand you.

You say you want help…pray for wisdom and take a real good look at the fruit in her life. None of this describes a servant’s heart. None of this sounds like Jesus Christ. Where is the Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Goodness, Kindness, Gentleness…where is her self control?

Women’s verses to at least consider…

#1—I Tim 5: 9-10 the widow’s list, includes proper behavior

#2—I Tim 2: 9-15 dressing modestly/don’t teach/be in silence

#3—I Peter 3: 1-6 submit/apparel/gentle & quiet spirit

#4—Prov 31: 10-30 virtuous wife

#5—Titus 2:3-5 behavior/teaching younger women to love their husband & children

#6—I Cor 14:34-35 do not speak in Church

#7—Eph 5:22-23 Marriage submission

#8—Col 3:18 Marriage submission

#9—I Cor 11: 2-16 women’s headship, covering, long hair
